PwC TV campaign offers advice on how to commit random acts of kindness

Some of the world’s largest organizations come to consulting firm PwC to address high-level enterprise issues such as AI, blockchain, governance and various industry regulations, but its latest TV commercial focuses on something much more basic: making the world a kinder place.

In ‘One Random Act of Kindness,’ PwC uses a simple blankdrop where a series of people make suggestions about how to go out of your way for others. This includes buying someone a coffee, making a meal for a friend in need, or sharing your umbrella when it’s raining.

Other than a brief moment where one of the people in the clip hand-write the URL to a PwC landing page, the only text includes a line of fine print that makes it clear no actors are featured. Instead, PwC recruited actual employees to reflect its kindness campaign.

The landing page offers more context around the commercial, explaining that “Be well, work well,” is a firm-wide effort.

“Kindness fuels emotional well-being, even for those who simply observe the kindness being shared,” the PwC landing page says. “Kindness helps to reduce stress, boosts our immune systems, and also lessens negative emotions like anxiety.”

The page also contains a submission form where those who choose to participate in PwC’s call to kindness (or those who were on the receiving end) can offer details of what happened and where. The firm has also developed a “Habit Bank” with additional ideas based on areas such as physical activity, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being.
