Top 5 Reasons to Attend the MarketingProfs B2B Forum

Last updated on October 15th, 2016 at 11:47 am

October 18-21 will be the third time I’ll be in Boston for a MarketingProfs B2B (MPB2B) Forum.  EXCITED doesn’t even begin to cover the force of emotions racing through me. Already. (Okay, truth be told, I’ve been counting down for months)

My advice…While working on your 2017 budgets, and deciding which of the fantastic B2B marketing conferences you should plan to attend next year, add this one to the list.

MPB2B is a conference where industry influencers and innovators share their secrets. It’s still small enough that you can meet and build your “squad”, but big enough that there are sessions where attendees of all levels of experience can learn something.

Here are the top 5 reasons to go:

Content

You will seriously want to clone yourself so you can attend all of the sessions, covering social media, strategy, public speaking, blogging, video, storytelling, how-to’s… well, the list just goes on and on. I said to someone recently, that it’s quite possible to go home in a #contentcoma. No lie.

Speakers

Every year the list of speakers includes top industry names like Michael Brenner, Scott Brinker, Mitch Joel, Larry Kim, Jason Miller, Scott Monty, Lee Odden, Joe Pulizzi, and Nick Westergaard. (Seth Godin even made an appearance two years ago). They aren’t just people speaking on a stage. They’re friendly, and accessible.

Networking

Every year attendees start networking, even before their boots hit the ground, thanks to an app created for the conference by Double Dutch. Those attending are already talking to each other. New to B2B marketing and have questions? Everyone has experiences and insights they’re ready to share. You don’t need to be afraid to ask.

Attendees, speaker, and sponsoring exhibitors are all ready and willing to share their knowledge.

Friendships and Shenanigans

You never know who you’re going to meet, or where, or how a long lasting friendship will take root. You could meet someone at one of the receptions (@stephanhov), or even  in an elevator (@KwamWrites).

There are even planned shenanigans, like last year’s B2B After Dark at House of Blues.

Ann Handley

Last, but certainly never least, the Chief Content Officer at MarketingProfs. Ann Handley is as enthusiastic as she is brilliant. Seriously, you could go, just to pick her brain, and absorb some of her energy. She likes it when you ask her about her accordion.

(Really, ask her about her accordion)

Or maybe there are really 6 reasons. This year is the 10th anniversary! There’s even still time to register. I highly recommend doing that right away.
