Talent moves up, even under lockdown. We might be working from anywhere and everywhere these days, but when it comes to new executive appointments, companies are looking within.
San Francisco-based Officium Labs, a decentralized customer experience startup, John Pompei as its new chief customer officer (CCO) and Scott McCabe as its chief human resource officer (CHRO). Pompei was promoted from within after joining Officium Labs from EA. McCabe is also an internal appointment having left Forte Labs for the company.

In continuing with the trend of internal hires, Canon USA made several new VP and GM appointments this month and announced the lot this week. Shinya Fukuda is now the vice president and general manager of Corporate Planning. Yukinari Kaneta has been promoted to the same role in Corporate IT. Isao Kobayashi is the new VP and GM of the Imaging Technologies and Communications Group. Amy Newman takes the position for General Affairs and Procurement. Marie Abbondondolo has been promoted to vice president of Audit, Credit and Risk. Brian Mahar is now VP of the Imaging Technologies and Communications Group.

Breaking the trend of internal promotions is Montreal-based RGC. The wholesale coffee supplier has appointed David Kastle as their new Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Kastle joins the company after more than a decade with Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee.
