Today, we cover an acquisition, the launch of a new training program, and a remote-work version of a software suite. They have in common improvements, some might say minor improvements, to established processes. All of them come, in some way, from the new realities of remote work and virtual methodologies for changing up our physical spaces without changing our professional functions.
Endeavor Business Media has acquired 3DX Media. 3DX is a producer of 3D product models for engineers that can be directly uploaded to CAD software while Tennessee-based Endeavor maintains an engineering community of over 535,000 decision makers. The acquisition will provide them with an invaluable tool to help streamline their design and development process.
“The 3D CAD software market is growing in nearly every market we serve, from manufacturing to healthcare to automotive,” says Chris Ferrell, CEO of Endeavor Business Media. “Along with the opportunity to create 3D CAD models, the acquisition of 3DX also brings with it a robust community of engineers that will benefit from the rich information and resources provided by our Design & Engineering Group.”

Ankura Consulting Group launches its Brooklyn Cyber Center (BCC) today. Centre addresses challenges in the cybersecurity industry including the severe talent shortage and a lack of diversity in the information security profession.
The centre will identify and recruit high-potential candidates from underrepresented communities. Participants in the program will participate in a 15-week, full-time intensive training on core cybersecurity disciplines. Those who successfully complete the intake program will then have the opportunity to join Ankura’s global cybersecurity practice as full-time security analysts. The BCC is currently operating virtually.
“As leaders of Ankura’s cybersecurity practice, we have learned over the past 20 years that qualities such as curiosity, tenacity, and a strong work ethic are the biggest predictors of success for a cybersecurity professional,” said Jason Straight, Senior Managing Director in Ankura’s cybersecurity practice and a Brooklyn resident. “Our Cyber Center will provide an opportunity to those who have the passion, drive and commitment to be successful but may not necessarily have had the opportunity to take a traditional path to a professional career.”

Canadian communications software company Vizetto Inc., released its new Reactiv SUITE PRO last week. The new product is a version of Reactiv SUITE that is specifically optimized for laptop and personal use by remote and travelling workers.
Reactiv SUITE is an eco-system of software products designed to make remote meetings more interactive and engaging. Professionals can share content, engage in non-linear interactions with their remote colleagues, and collaboratively markup documents.
“We have been beta testing this application for months with the help of hundreds of users, who logged over 20,000 hours of presentations, around the world,” said Av Utukuri, founder and CEO of Vizetto. “We spent the time to understand how to make remote presenters stand out and how to refine the tool to make onboarding and reduce the resistance. We curated the best practices and helped these individuals generate impact in their daily presentations. Now we want to bring this knowledge and experience to users around the world.”
