Last updated on March 22nd, 2016 at 10:48 am

Happy Wednesday! We’re back with another weekly round up of the most shared and buzzworthy B2B content on social media. We’ve used Nexalogy to easily sift through piles of social data and discover these articles, and have collected them here to keep you in the loop.

This week, we discovered seven crucial questions you need to ask before launching a B2B referral program, some big acquisition news, tips for effective lead generation, and some insight into the current state of B2B digital marketing.

TRENDING TOPICS

B2B Referral Programs

Ever bought something based on a suggestion from a friend or family member? We probably all have at least once. Word-of-mouth marketing is a classic (and powerful) way of gaining new customers, especially in the B2B world where 84% of businesses initiate the buying process with a referral according to Edelman Trust Barometer. Getting started, however, requires some strategic planning. In this post on the Marketo blog, Jignesh Shah covers seven questions you should ask before launching a referral program.

B2B Business News

Making waves on social this week was the announcement of an acquisition. As reported in this post on TechCrunch, Payoneer, a service that helps businesses and B2B marketplaces execute seamless cross-border payments, has acquired Armor Payments. The acquisition enhances the security of payments offered by Payoneer, as Armor Payments is the only licensed B2B payments provider offering Escrow-as-a-Service (EaaS).

Lead Generation

Solid, quality leads fuel the B2B business funnel. But are you generating enough of them? How do you make sure you’re targeting the right buyers, at the right time, on the right channels? This post from Strong Social covers five tips for creating a lead generation strategy that will help you see results.

B2B Digital Marketing

Highlighting the results from two recent studies by Regalix and DemandWave, this article from MarketingCharts is chalk full of some really interesting stats about the state of B2B digital marketing. It covers B2B marketers’ challenges and objectives when it comes to digital marketing, insights into digital vs. traditional marketing and channel trends, as well as recommendations for success in 2016.
